My mobile phone was broken last friday ( Aug 25 '06 ), so I couldn't use anymore the camera. Until I purchase a new mobile phone with a built in camera there won't be new updates or pictures. I just hope I would be able to have one by the end of the week. Thank you for dropping by and checking my BLOG. Until then .... Yoroshiku! (^o^)

In Shakey's

At last was able to enter and eat the famous Shakey's Pizza. I wouldn't have been here if it weren't for an invitation from one of our engineer who wanted me to join and meet a group of young filipinos here in Tokyo. I had a great time sharing jokes and exchanging stories. Didn't know that there are lots of young filipinos here in Japan.

Together with young filipinos from Bukidnon, Cagayan de Oro and Manila.

Neon Lights of Shibuya

Aside from being the gathering place for young fashionista; The place is also popular for wannabee artist and singers. The place has also lots of billboards and neon lights, maybe 2nd to Shinjuku ( I think ).

Shibuya

The next day had another meeting with one of our engineer working in another company. After our meeting we went to Shibuya to meet other filipinos. Shibuya is know as the fashion capital of Japan for young japanese. This is also where the famous intersection is located.

After the food and drinks....

Me together with our engineers. This is how we looked like after eating exotic food and drinks .... feeling very exotic?!

Exotic food with exotic drink

When eating exotic food you have to also drink exotic drinks. The rice wine from Okinawa served i n a tradinional wine server or pot that looks like a ceramic tea pot.

Exotic Food

When it comes to food I'm really adventurous. Specialty of the haus ... smoked snake ( most expensive ) and sashimi goat. I could just imagine by now some of you would say YIIKES! YUCKY! Kadiri or even grotesque. But to my surprise it was delicious.

Met with engineers in a retro bar.

Last Saturday after a meeting with some of our engineers in Ichikawa went to a retro bar and met our other engineers in NishiOgikubo . 1st time to enter a unique bar like this wherein it has loads of memorabilia hanging all over the place.

Summer Festival in Suginami 5

It won't be a summer festival without the okonomiyaki or accordingly the Japanese version of pizza. But i think otherwise. The batter is just the same when making pancake, then you add cabbage, meat, green onions and other spices you wish to add then have it grilled in round shape teppanyaki. Then top it with japanese mayonnaise and some kind of sweet sauce.

Summer Festival in Suginami 4

Chocolate covered bananas and dried plums, cherries or peach coated in sugar syrup frozen in a block of ice.

Summer Festival in Suginami 3

Age of electronics and robots but during these time they sell ... Plastic toys ..... reminiscing the old days.

Summer Festival in Suginami 2

Games for children and for the young at heart. First picture is a game wherein you try to get the floating plastic toy you like with a small net shape catcher. The 2nd picture is to try to get as much goldfish as you can until your paper spoon tears apart

Attend Summer Festival in Suginami

Here are some pictures taken in Suginami. Summer festival is usually for the children and families.

Promoting the Philippines in Japan

The image model for promoting the Philippines in Japan is the daugther of the famous actor of " Memoirs of a Geisha " and " The Last Samurai " to name a few ... Mr. Ken Watanabe. She is a famous model here in Japan and in Europe. Check her website: http://www.anne-coro.net

Bartender ..... Another Glass of Hoegaarden please!

Our Bartender was kind enough to give us another round of Hoegaarden. She is not only good in serving our drinks but also an entertainer and cook.

Just look again at the HUGE GLASS!!! Am I drunk or what?! Hahaha! Actually, that night I slept inside the train and passed by my stop. I had to ride another train to get back to my station.

Still in the Bar

After the "Hemp Draft Beer " we ordered one of our favorite Belgian Beer. The white beer from Hoegaarden. Each of us had one of those HUGE GLASS. If not mistaken something like 800ml almost a liter. CHEERS!

One of those nights with Wataru

Went out with Wataru one of my colleagues and close friend. Since we finished work early, we taught of having a glass of beer before going back to our respective places. But what was supposedly just a bottle of beer .... 1st Beer " Hemp Draft Beer "from Japan. It is not the drink for hippies or reggae worshippers. It is actually a medicinal beer. It has even the seeds of the plant.

Engineer in HIratsuka

Together with Josh our engineer living in Hiratsuka. This was taken in his apartment and it was him who cooked our dinner. Salad in Sesame Dressing and Grilled Stuffed Squid.

Attended a BBQ Party sponsored by Peruvians

From Yokohama went to Hiratsuka with our engineer who lives in this city. After hearing Mass there was a small BBQ Party sponsored by the Peruvians of the Hiratsuka Community. Took a picture of there food and cola from RED BULL. I didn't know that Red Bull produces also cola, I taught only energy drinks.

Motomachi's Subway

The subway in Motomachi was just constructed recently. I consider it as one of the beautiful subways here in Japan.

Motomachi's Original Beer

Since I was already in Motomachi decided to taste their original brew. Accordingly they strated the brewery since 1862 or something. It has the influence of Belgian Beer, a bit fruity.

Bar in Motomachi

While waiting for one of our engineers, did some strolling along Motomachi Road. Found this unique bar.

Motomachi

Last week went to Motomachi in Yokohama with one of our engineers. Motomachi reminds me of sunset drive in Los Angeles.

Yakiniku Again

I just love the beef here in Japan. Even though there is US Black Angus or the Australian Beef still it doesn't come close in taste and texture with the beef of Japan. Went again to my favorite yakiniku resto. Wonderful night with great food and red wine ... what else can I say but totemo oishii.

A poem

Here's a poem from the LUMADs[the original settlers] of Mindanao(Mindanao is an island in the Philippines and my birth place ). This poem reminds me of a special friend. The 1st part is the original version and the next is the translation in english.

Si Aypod Bay Upadan
No Kang Tinaginduman
May Ulang Madi Kagnan
May Takip Madi Kaywan
No Kang Tinaginduman
Ga Siyon Di Sa Adngan
Ga Pagtangdayon Diman

You, My friend, Dearest of all
Thinking of you makes me sad:
Rivers deep are in between,
Forest vast keep us apart.
But thinking of you with Love:
As if you are here nearby
Standing, Sitting at my side.

Crocs slowy getting popular in Japan

Since it's SUMMER here in Japan colorful clothes and accessories are the "IN THING" now. While I was walking inside a mall saw a mother and daugther wearing yellow crocs; and a just a few meters away was a couple wearing a purple and orange crocs. But crocs are not only for human ...
Even Miu-Miu loves my orange crocs.

Favorite JEANS ...

And since I'm feeling very fashionable at the moment; let me introduce my favorite jeans; a collaboration between 2 brands - Theory & 7 For all Mankind thus the new brand SEVEN FOR THEORY. I have other brand jeans in my closet like Armani jeans, Versace jeans, Trussardi jeans, Theory, RL, GUESS and LEVI but the fit and feel is different with Seven for Theory.
For those who love jeans, I suggest you try it.

SALE Again

Received again another post card from Bruno Magli Store. How I wish could visit the store but then better not; it would just make me salivatating ( not sure if there is such a word to describe my feelings ) with crave to buy their products eventhough I still don't need them.
